SESSION: POST-SECONDARY OPTIONS FOR HOMESCHOOLERS IN QUEBEC
Navigating the post-secondary options for homeschooled students in Quebec can be a challenge, particularly concerning the laws concerning languages in education. Sinead Roy speaks about the different options available for Cegep, University or Vocational Education.
Sinead Roy is the Academic Head of Québec Online School and has been working with homeschool families since 1998. Her three children have graduated and moved on to their careers of choice. Sinead’s passion is to help other parents homeschool their children. Sinead and her team are available to help set up your student learning plan and reports, and to evaluate your portfolio. She also hosts online classes and works alongside the school boards and other provinces to guide your child towards graduation. Sinead has degrees in music and education including a postgraduate and an MA from Dublin University, and a teaching diploma from Trinity College, London, the international examination board for performing arts and English language. She has held professional teacher qualifications in Ireland, Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. She has also served on the board of directors for AQED (Associatioon Québécoise pour l’éduction a domicile) and recently joined the board of directors for CanELearn.
